Exceptional Interior Paint Job in Simi Valley

Bill and his team were exceptional, in every way. Upon meeting Bill, I was struck by how much he wanted to take care of my individual needs. He did not try to sell me on extras that I did not need, but instead, he told me what he would do for me. Basically, Bill’s team is ideal. They arrived early every day, walked in and immediately began working. They worked productively until the end of the day. Bill’s team is so fast and efficient that they finished a five day job in only four days. . I will use Pacific West Painting again and refer them often. Thanks, Bill!

Pacific West was very professional and accommodating with my requests. Bill and his crew were able to match the colors I selected and complete the house’s entire interior on very short notice. And to top it off, they did it all while another crew was finishing our floors. I’d met with a few painting contractors and I had a good feeling about Pacific West. It turns out my feelings were right and that goes a long way when your stressed out from remodeling. I would recommend them without hesitation.

Great Paint Job!- Northridge, Ca

We live in Northridge, where the temperature ranges from freezing to the 100s throughout the year. Prior paint jobs were peeling and cracking off of the wood on our 45 year old house within 2 years. We were getting by patching the worst spots between repaints. When I drove by a well-maintained neighbor’s house and saw three guys scraping fascia carefully by hand, I stopped and got a card. Pacific West provided a dossier of ratings, referrals, lists of nearby homes they had painted up to 8 years ago to inspect. Bill, the owner, explained that we needed to change to water based paint because it was less brittle and held its color better. We decided to have them replace all of the old paint on the house; this included our house length, 70′ wood patio roof for $500 more. They came when they said, there were up to 5 guys working on the house sometimes, taking great care with the details, like painting the old window glazing, and scraping and patching the old wooden gate before repainting it. They moved heavy cabinets my husband and I could not, they were extremely neat, even covering a neighbor’s car in plastic in case there was overspray. There was no mess left after the job was finished, they replaced the cabinets and left extra paint behind without being asked. I’ve never seen such a thorough, careful paint job. They worked at least 10 hours a day for five days. They are bonded and insured with a state license.

It has become a rarity when you find a company who is honest, does what they say they will do, completes the job within the agreed upon time frame and whose work is at a master’s level. I frankly lucked out. I went online in search of interior house painters and found the Pacific West painting website. The reviews that I read brought me to picking up the telephone and calling for an estimate. The owner, Bill, was very knowledgeable, personable and patient. I had an unusual situation where we decided to move and had three weeks to make everything happen. Bill was able to meet with us the very next day, provide solid feedback about colors and shades based on the lighting conditions in our apartment. He called with a reasonable estimate, informed me that he only uses the highest quality paint and assured me that our place would be finished in a couple of days. He crew was one time both days, was very friendly and considerate of our neighbors ensuring that the noise level was at a minimum and were true professionals. The painting exceeded my expectations and when they had finished, the place was so clean that you would not know they were even there. The entire experience was effortless on our part and we were quite happy that the apartment was move in ready when they left. Great crew, great company, absolutely reliable and very reasonable in cost vs. value. You would be remiss if you did not at least give them the opportunity to show you what they have to offer.

Pacific West first painted the exterior of my home many years ago, I was so happy with that work, that I did not hesitate to have them paint the interior of my home. Tip Cleaning Up After Painting a Room

Paint certainly serves its purpose as a good durable coating. However, even though you try to ensure that everything in the room is covered before you commence painting, it is inevitable that some paint will still manage to flick or splash somewhere. Removing all your painting equipment carefully from the room will help to eliminate any accidents.

It is obviously sensible to wear old clothes or overalls and old shoes for painting in, as paint can be very difficult to remove from clothing. If you do accidentally manage to get some paint on decent clothing, it will be easier to remove once dry – otherwise you run the risk of spreading the paint and embedding it in the clothing, making it almost impossible to remove. Try working the paint out of the fibers with plenty of warm water and scrubbing with a small brush. Depending on the type of material, you may be able to cut off small blobs of paint from the surface.

Paint on carpets may also be difficult to remove. Again, any blobs on the surface may cut of easily; otherwise, as with clothing, use plenty of warm water, but blot, don’t scrub, as this may damage the pile. Stubborn paint spots may loosen off by gently using a blunt knife. Always work in the direction of the pile and then blot dry.

Always fold dustsheets in on themselves before removing to shake outside. Make sure that you always know which is the clean side of your sheets before you place them back down the next time you paint.

When removing masking tape from the edges of windows and carpet edges, always make sure the paint is dry first and peel the tape off gently – never rip it off quickly. Any paint on windowpanes can be scraped off with a bladed scraper. The glass can then be washed and polished with a chamois leather.

Any spots of paint on fixed fittings can usually be removed by wiping with a damp cloth. For more stubborn spots, try scraping very gently with a blunt knife, taking care not to scratch any delicate surfaces.

An important job to do as soon as possible after painting is to clean out paintbrushes and rollers. It is very important to clean them all thoroughly after each painting session; otherwise you will constantly need to replace them.

First remove excess paint by either working the brushes on newspaper, or running a scraper carefully over the bristles. Then try to get the worst of the paint off in a bucket of water. Water base paints will wash out very easily under running water once the worst of the paint has been removed.
Oil base paints will need to be cleaned in a bowl of white spirit first, then rinsed under a running tap. Finally, wash them in soapy water and give them another rinse.
Shake out all excess water from the paintbrushes, and wrap them in wax paper and then seal with a rubber band. This will help them to retain their shape.
Rollers used for water base paints can be washed in the sink, by part filling it with water and rolling the roller back and forth. Finally, rinse under running water until the water from the roller is clear.
For oil base paint, rolling it in a paint tray containing white spirit can clean out the roller. Finish off by washing in soapy water and rinsing thoroughly. Hang rollers up to dry once they are clean.
A good tip for keeping brushes soft and ready to use later in the day without the need for cleaning, is to wrap them in cling film. This will exclude air and prevent them from drying out. In the case of rollers, wrap them in a sealed plastic bag.

Finally, unless you wear gloves, it is virtually impossible to keep paint off your hands. Luckily there are a number of special hand cleaners available to buy, which are very effective in removing paint from the skin without causing any irritation.

Always make sure that all the paint is thoroughly dry before you begin to clean up. Although clearing up can be a very tedious task, it is an important part of any job and ensures that you always have clean reliable equipment available for your next project.

I can’t say enough about Bill Dumond’s team of painters. They were all hard workers, and sometimes I had to tell them to take a break!

My home looks so much better and the walls are free of any paint errors. I only had two extremely minor areas to touch up after they were done. I’m so pleased I decided go to Pacific West Painting as my paint contractor. I will continue to use Pacific West Painting when ever I can and hopefully I will end up with the same exceptional quality every time.

My home is about 1852 square feet and the painters took about 20 hours to do the walls and the base boards.
